Trimester Two: Blog #3 (due 12/14 at midnight)

Take some time to reflect on the Hamlet Project. What worked well? What didn’t? What strengths did each group display? Overall, what are your thoughts on this project, and what might you change for the future?

Overall, I really enjoyed the project. I think everyone worked well together and we all tried our best with our jobs/roles. Honestly, I think the script could have been better, and that was my fault. The lines were good and funny, but the whole idea behind the lines wasn't very good. We could have worked as a whole to get a real court case together, but then again, our class is small and that was the best we could do. Even though we have different people in our class, I think we all put in our best and worked hard to make the video a good one. It seemed like we all had fun (even you, Miss Stubeler :]). If I could change anything, I would change the ideas behind the script and make a better arguement for the defense and prosecution.

The Hamlet project was entertaining, and I believe everyone did a good job of contributing. It would have been nice if we could have added more props and details to the set, but given the resources we had I think we did well. Since our class was so small it was difficult to incorporate the full regulations emitted. People did a wonderful job of acting, and I believe the costumes, especially Ophelia's, fit the actors good. If we did this project in the future, however, I think there should be more jobs that are evenly distributed throughout the group.

I believe that our class did a great job with changing the format of the Hamlet project to create a court movie. I give alot of credit to the script writers who put in alot of time up front getting the script done on time so we could start filming. It was definately entertaining acting out the court room proceedings. Even with a very small class of 7 and the help of Judge Stubeler the movie I think was a success.

Although I felt at the time that the project was a little rough-after editing it and watching it, I felt that it went pretty well. We all did our parts and created a product that turned out pretty entertaining. Everyone did a great job acting, and it was really fun to make. Plus I truly think we did the book justice, even if we may have altered the story just a little bit. I hope Miss Stump will allow us to do more projects like this (hint hint).

**If you want to see the film (saying Miss Stump doesn't let us watch it in class- which after the Dark Knight incident probably won't happen) log on to bigdaddyhoss.blogspot.com or hossamainia.blogspot.com and see it there. I should have it up by the end of the week.

I believe that as a whole, the Hamlet project is an excellent project to finish up the unit. Overall, it was the best unit project I have ever done in my academic career. Using my opportunities to take pictures of the second period class, I was able to see the differences between the original project and the one we worked on. First hour produced a movie with every individual having different jobs to finish the film. While we thought the idea would help working as a small group, there were challenges along the way. Some people’s jobs took less time so they felt that they could get away with doing nothing. There must be a realistic way to do this with a small group, but we did not find the perfect way. My time watching the second hour class proved to me that this was a great project. The students seemed engaged and knowledgeable with the activity they were involved with. Being a competition allowed for students to work harder to get the job done. With our group we did the best of our ability to get the job done and I believe if you would do a film that more days should be allowed to work on script writing and analysis. The problem I saw with the actual project is that there were weaker learners that could break the group by not being knowledgeable of the issue. The project went well and I believe that it was a success in my eyes.

Overall i feel as if our project was top notch. Everyone came together in our large group of seven to form a great team, and with the addition of Judge Stuebler we were pretty darn amazing. The fact that everyone was willing to contribute to the project is what i believe really helped us to acomplish our goal. In the end we made due with what we had and worked around the problems of having a small class. Even though the acting was poor, (Derek and I) i feel as if we all tried our best to play the roll of the character we were given. One thing i would change would be our class size. At times it was difficult to act out all of the scenes that we wanted to. Overall we did a great job on this project.
